Oxford House - Joe Prott is a sober, independent, democratic living house for men in recovery.
A chartered member of Oxford House, Inc. and a member of the Madison (WI) Chapter of Oxford Houses, the house provides stable, safe housing for men in an AODA free living environment
Normally, men come to live in the Oxford House - Joe Prott after completing a treatment program or half-way house program. The person must have a stable period of sobriety, in most cases about 30 days before moving into the house.
The house has six beds currently and is a low-cost alternative to returning to the homes or neighborhoods that the individual lived in before recovery. The Oxford House Model has proven to be very effective in the self-management of recovery and preventing relapse.
The men residing at Oxford House - Joe Prott pay all of the expenses of the house through an individual, equal share of expenses. Each Oxford House is self-run and self-governed and being a member of a local chapter ensures responsibility and accountability.
