Oxford House Shamrock is a self-run, self-supported recovery house for recovering alcoholics and drug addicts. This is an all female house. Oxford Houses are a concept in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction. A representative of every House in the area meets with the others on a monthly basis, to share information, to seek resolution of problems in a particular House, and to express that Chapter's vote on larger issues.
Residents pay rent, utility and other household expenses of Oxford House Shamrock. This facility has a maximum capacity of six residents. This sober house is part of a larger non-profit network.
I currently reside in Atlanta but am possibly looking to move back to Charlotte to be closer to family. I am an alcoholic (no drug use). I have been an alcoholic for 10 years. I have been in treatment (3) times. I have been in and out of sobriety. I am not looking for a "treatment" or "rehab" facility, just somewhere that I can be around a positive environment with other women who want to stay sober! I am flexible as to where in the Charlotte area you have availability. I am 50 though so I would prefer to be in a house with women around my age. I am currently a month sober right now and plan on staying that way!!
