Prestera Center provides a broad range of services from general outpatient services to children, adults, and families, to specialized services for more intensive care. Additionally, Prestera Center offers a variety of addictions services including recovery coaching, outpatient, detoxification, public inebriate services, both long and short term residential housing and permanent recovery housing. This continuum of care allows our experienced staff to offer the very best treatment within a fully integrated system developed to meet the individual needs of each client.
Accepts insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid. Sliding scale may be available for some programs.
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES (304-697-2190) 625 8th St., Huntington:
24-hr. supervised care for adults 18 yrs+., who cannot live independently in the community and who, without this level of care, would likely have to be hospitalized in a psychiatric facility. Services provided include basic living skills training, medication self-administration monitoring, transportation, social/community support, case management, and supervision to ensure the consumers health, safety and welfare. Consumers receive other services at the Center including psychiatric care, counseling/psychotherapy, money management day treatment, and peer services.
CRISIS RESIDENTIAL UNIT:
Location: 3375 U.S. Rt. 60, E., Huntington, WV 25705
For adults 18 yrs+ in need of short-term crisis stabilization. Provided 24 hrs/day, 365 days/yr. Includes group and individual therapy; medication reviews/education; education about the consumer\'s specific diagnosis. Treatment planning & assessments completed upon admission. To prevent psychiatric hospitalization and sometimes, to serve as a hospital step-down.
HOMELESS SERVICES:
- SAFE QUARTERS (304-523-0293, Ext. 328) Located 1030 Seventh Ave., Huntington with mailing address at 624 10th St., Huntington, WV 25701.
Joint project of Prestera, Harmony House and the Huntington City Mission. Use City Mission switchboard. Co-ed shelter for the homeless mentally ill 18 yrs.+ that cannot survive in the regular Mission setting. Linkage with mental health services. Receive basic living skills training, medication education, and assistance in applying for and finding safe, affordable housing. Consumers do not have to be a current Prestera Center Client nor do they have to become a client to stay at Safe Quarters. Transportation to appointments is provided as well as case management services.
- TREEHOUSE APARTMENTS: Single room occupancy with support services for homeless mentally ill persons. Permanent housing.
RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS AND GROUP HOMES:
- CLOVERDALE: Persons with mental illness. Long-term, permanent housing.
- EVERGREEN PLACE: Individualized apartment setting for chronically mentally ill clients. Provides 19 one-bedroom apartments or efficiency apartments. Long-term, permanent housing.
- JOAN ROSS APARTMENTS: Persons with severe and persistant mental illness. Long-term, permanent housing.
- MAPLEWOOD: MR/DD group home.
- OAK TREE APARTMENTS/G. R. VALEY APTS. Houses persons with severe and persistent mental illness. Long-term, permanent housing.
- SYCAMORE PLACE: Provides transitional housing lasting more than six months for chronic mentally ill patients being released from a hospital setting.
SUBSTANCE ABUSE HOUSING:
- LAURELWOOD:
Transitional living for men 18 yrs.+ who have recently completed substance abuse treatment. Provides assessment, group therapy, treament planning, supportive intervention, case management, vocational readiness, 12-step programming, relapse prevention education.
- MARY WOELFEL COMPLEX:
Provides a six month substance abuse outreach/and case management program with transitional housing units for single women.
- RENAISSANCE ANNEX:
Provides a six month substance abuse outreach/and case management program with transitional housing units for single women.
- RENAISSANCE PLACE (304-525-4024, FAX 304-697-1280):
Renaissance Women and Children Program. Long-term (six month) residential addictions treatment facility for 12 substance abusing females ages 18 and older and their children ages birth-eleven. Provides parenting, family therapy, individual counseling, group therapy, children\'s treatment and prevention services, drug & alcohol testing, case management, educational/vocational goal completion, referrals for medical services, psychiatric evaluation & treatment, supportive living, transportation and referrals for licensed child care. Residents must provide their own personal care items, clothing, linens, pots/pans, and food after the first week.
