Smith House is a non-medical adolescent facility that focuses on aiding young men in overcoming substance abuse and negative behavior patterns. The focus is on building key traits to assist the young men in being more socially responsible individuals, from a performance based perspective. Increased honesty, loyalty, trust, concern, and responsibility are sought for the 16 - 21 year old residents at Smith House. Residents referred, primarily, through various levels of the justice system. Smith House is small enough to provide quality, individualized care for each of the 24 young men, who are there for an average of 90 days. Resident\'s families are encouraged to be actively involved in their child\'s treatment as we look to build pro-school support systems through individual and group therapy, and the local 12 step community. Our overall focus is on long-term sobriety and positive lifestyle changes.
